To bring much more of Israel we asked some of our colleagues to join the group. Some are coming along and joining the tour while other are sending their creations with other members to exhibit their art. Among the artist you may find well known artists like Daphnah Shapira Hasson - Daphna Shapira Hasson's art works are made of recycled materials that are transformed into fascinating and unique objects that remind us of sacred ritual objects from old cultures such as Tibetan mandalas, Persian sacred carpets, and Jewish sacred objects. Not only the shapes remind us of old cultures, also the way they are made- Daphna's works relate to female traditional crafts, such as: weaving, embroidery and basket making, and reminds us of feminine objects such as fans and jewelry. Dominate shapes in the artworks are: the cycle- a symbol of harmony, infinity and wholeness, the fan -, a symbol of femininity, in Japanese as well as Spanish culture, and the flower- which is the basic decorative motive in many cultures crafts. Through the simple materials and the use hand work, Daphna creates" meditative objects", of pure beauty, that combine sacred thought with feminine thought and craft. . |
