The breast plate completes a unique set for decorating the Torah, composed of Rimonim and a pointer (Yad). The lions on the breastplate symbolize the Judean lions guarding the gates of heaven. Alternative verses can be inserted instead. Four interchangeable plaques for indicating the place to which the Torah has been scrolled are included.
